Clipper Pearls Deckhand

Job Description

Title: Deckhand (Cleaning vessel and/or Mothership)
Department(s): Quondong Pearl Farm and locations as required
Reports to: Deck Supervisor and/or Boat Skipper

Job Summary

The primary function of this role is to assist in the day to day routine maintenance of pearl shell & husbandry equipment.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Cleaning & removal of pearl shell fouling
  • Cleaning and maintaining shell panels, ropes and other husbandry equipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining boat decks and all equipment
  • Performing multiple tasks to ensure the safe & correct function of the vessels you are assigned to
  • Report to your line Manager any concerns you identify with the safety & performance of other staff & equipment

Minimum Requirements

  1. Basic swimming skills
  2. Ability to work in marine conditions
  3. Current Police Clearance (within last 3 months)

Abilities Required

  1. Must be physically fit
  2. Ability to work as part of a team
