Caretaker

Written on the 5 July 2013

This 6 month position would ideally suit a retired couple looking for a unique Kimberley experience rather than a quick driving tour.

Beagle Bay is one of the many beautiful parts of the Kimberley and the camp site has spectacular ocean views. It takes about 2 hours to drive to Beagle Bay from Broome heading north along the Cape Leveque Road. The Cape Leveque Road is a dirt road and at times can be closed due to flooding. The fishing and crabbing in the area is quite good but will always depend on the skill of the fisherman.

You would be living on the site of the old pearl farm at Beagle Bay in air-conditioned accommodation, food supplied plus $200 per fortnight per couple. There is plenty of room on site to park a van or motor home.

In exchange we would be looking for a couple who have some knowledge of generators, pumps, general maintance, gardening and housekeeping. The cleaning roster would be discussed with the hatchery staff on a daily basis. We would expect that your working hours would be 15 hours per week averaged over the week.

Leaving the hatchery over the weekend would need to be discussed with the hatchery manager at least 2 weeks in advance.

If you would like more information on this position please call Mark on 08 9193 6156 or email to hradmin@clipperpearls.com.au.

Applications close on the 12th July 2013 and the successful applicants ready to start on the 16th July 2013.

Written applications, including CVs for the couple, should be emailed to Mark Holtom at hradmin@clipperpearls.com.au
